Dangerous Goods are all substances, mixtures and objects whose natural abilities are a danger to

• the public safety

• human beings, animals and economy or

• important common property.

Especially with those substances special regulations have to be considered when being transported and/or stored.

Once a company is involved in transporting dangerous goods a risk prevention officer has to be appointed. They can be part of the company or, if that is more convenient, can be ordered from the outside. For the company itself there is no difference either way.

Since August 2011 Dr. Torsten Zorn is appointed risk prevention officer for the transportation of dangerous goods via road for REACH ChemConsult GmbH.
