RoHS consultant

At REACh ChemConsult GmbH, we offer support in fulfilling the requirements of the RoHS directive.

If you, as a retailer or manufacturer, produce or place electrical and electronic equipment on the market in Europe, you automatically fall within the scope of the RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU) - regardless of where the product was manufactured. RoHS is the abbreviation for Restriction of Hazardous Substances. The third revision of EU Directive 2015/863 of the European Parliament has been in force since 22 July 2019. RoHS 3 also includes substance restrictions for cables used for the transmission of electric currents or electromagnetic fields with a rated voltage <250 V. Since 2011, there have now been 83 delegated directives that have amended/extended the RoHS Directive (as of 17/05/2024).

The aim of the RoHS Directive is to reduce human exposure to hazardous substances and the release of these substances into the environment through controlled and restricted use. Hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment that fall under the RoHS Directive and are therefore subject to restrictions on use include lead, chromium (VI), cadmium and mercury, as well as plasticisers from the phthalate group and brominated flame retardants.

In Germany, the RoHS Directive is implemented by the Ordinance on the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (Electrical and Electronic Equipment Substances Ordinance (ElektroStoffV)).

We offer to support you in implementing the requirements of the RoHS Directive.
