REACH SVHC Testing & Service

If you are a manufacturer or importer of products (textile, toys, leather, electronics etc) or semi-finished products do not hesitate to ask for our service available for the REACH needs for your articles [contact us].

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) publishes 1 to 2 times per year new SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) to human health and/or the environment. The list comprises now 240 substances (per 01/2024). (List of Substances of Very High Concern)

Suppliers of an article / product:

It is regulated by Article 33 (1) of REACH that any supplier of an article must sufficiently inform the recipient of the article if such SVHC substances are contained in the article in a concentration above 0.1 % weight by weight ([w/w]). In this case, the supplier shall inform the recipient (distributor, industrial or professional downstream user) and provide sufficient information for safe use of that article. Currently manufacturer and importers of any articles get asked by their recipients about the SVHC-amount contained in their products. Any consumer requests on the containment of SVHC substances in articles must be answered within 45 days.

A SCIP notification is necessary for articles containing SVHC above 0.1%. The dossier must be created in the IUCLID software. We are pleased to offer this service for you.

The tracking of SVHC substances for the duty to give information is important:

  • check thoroughly articles for SVHC-substances with concentrations of more than 0.1 % [w/w]
  • duty to give proof and answer on customer requests on the containment of SVHC substances in articles within 45 days
  • ensure product safety for human health and environment

These SVHC substances on the Candidate List may afterwards become subject to authorisation by European Commissions decision and will be included in Annex XIV of REACH.

Contact our competent team for a quotation on our independent and costsaving REACH SVHC testing and certification service:

REACh ChemConsult GmbH has developed a cost effective SVHC substance checking service to detect SVHC-substances in products (articles):

  • screening and detecting wether articles contain SVHC-substances in concentrations above 0.1 % by mass [w/w].
  • documentation according to the REACH regulation
  • our clients receive a comprehensive advice and certification whether SVHC substances are contained in the respective product

Any necessary analytical testing will be performed at our accredited German partner laboratories. Substances will be analysed depending on the likelyhood of occurance in the respective article/product with different analytical methods (depending on the substance): GC/MS, ICP-OES, IC following validated DIN/EN ISO methods.
